This position will be in the P&C Actuarial Reserving Department.

This position conducts reserve analysis for the standard auto product line
for all reserve types. It will also support Actuarial Statement of Opinion
work along with other external reporting requirements. Responsible for
transmitting appraisal results and documenting resulting impacts. Fosters
strong relationships with Product/Pricing, Claims and Finance to enhance
reserving analyses and processes.

JOB SUMMARY: Keeps current with actuarial methodologies and insurance
concepts through reading, training sessions and work assignments. Estimates
future loss and premium results for ratemaking or reserving purposes using
actuarial methodologies. With minimal supervision, successfully completes
a wide variety of actuarial assignments.

JOB SUMMARY:  Continues to learn  more advanced actuarial methodologies and
insurance concepts through reading, training sessions and work assignments.
Estimates future loss, expense, and premium results for ratemaking or
reserving purposes using actuarial methodologies. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Continues to develop more advanced knowledge of data sources and
   requirements; retrieves and manipulates data.
2. Continues to develop knowledge of actuarial methodologies via actual work
   assignments.
3. Conducts analyses that adhere to actuarial standards or practice: selects
   appropriate data sources and methods, makes assumptions, recognizes
   considerations and develops recommendations.
4. Documents assumptions, methods, sources, considerations; organizes
   documents.
5. Notes unreasonable results/non-optimal solutions and assists in
   resolution.
6. Prepares memos, documents, and letters as needed.  Communications are to
   be concise, logical, organized, and grammatically correct with the
   appropriate level of technical terms suitable to the audience.
7. Develops personal work schedule to ensure timely completion of assigned
   tasks;  coordinates with others when tasks involve others.
8. Participates in Peer Tech Reviews.  Reviews work of peers and also has
   work reviewed by them.
9. Demonstrates satisfactory examination progress per the Casualty Actuarial
   Program.
10. May assist with training new associates on standard work procedures.
11. May make presentations to internal audiences and participate in team
    activities as requested.

RELATIONSHIP:  Sr. Asst. Actuary, Associate Actuary, Actuary, Senior Actuary,
or Actuarial Officer. No direct reports. 

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:  Two or more years experience in an actuarial-related
work area.  Knowledge of advanced mathematics and statistical concepts,
basic actuarial methods/concepts, insurance terminology and product
familiarity.

EDUCATION:  Bachelors degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics,
economics or related field with a strong quantitative orientation.  Must
have successfully completed at least three (3) Casualty Actuarial Society
exams and have proven performance in the job.

SKILLS:  Demonstrated work product accuracy.  Effective oral/written
communication skills;  Demonstrated ability to comprehend actuarial concepts
and other advanced statistical concepts;  Demonstrated ability to think
logically and perform actuarial methods in a timely manner. 
Ability to  effectively  operate personal computer and related spreadsheets
and data base software. 

OVERTIME ELIGIBILITY:  Not Eligible (exempt)

WORKING CONDITIONS:  Normal office environment
