Position Description & Requirements:
Summary:
The Actuarial Assistant will be responsible for supporting the Actuarial
Department by working closely with other members of the Finance,
Administration and Actuarial Departments.  There is also an expectation
to continuously expand actuarial knowledge via work assignments and
passing SOA examinations. The work will initially be consistent with the
skill levels tested in course one of the Actuarial Exam Series.  Credit
for one SOA exam required for Actuarial Assistant position.

Job Requirements to include the following:
* SOA examination credit for one exam preferred
* A degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Business, or
  Actuarial Science preferred
* Outstanding mathematical skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Strong PC skills
* Strong analytical skills
* Bilingual (English and Spanish) is preferred

Job Duties to include the following:
* Supporting the Actuarial team's activities, projects, research
  and analyses
* Support Stat, GAAP and Tax reserving for the individual lines with
  some possible work with the group reserves as well.
* Assist in explaining earnings in the reporting period.
* Assist in the calculation of the DAC.
* Assist with cash flow testing.
* Supporting management needs, including data analysis and periodic
  profitability review.
* Delivering all work in line with expectations. In particular, meeting
  deadlines and ensuring work accuracy
* Communicating proactively with others in the department about the
  work process and results.
* Creating documentation and explaining all inputs and findings
* Expanding actuarial knowledge via work assignments and passing of
  SOA exams
* Maintaining a sense of entrepreneurial spirit and promoting a positive
  work environment
