State Auto Actuarial Internship Program

State Auto Insurance is accepting resumes for the 2007
Actuarial Internship Program.

Responsibilities
The program offers a candidate exposure to actuarial
work in the Property and Casualty area. The intern will
analyze the rate adequacy of a particular state and line
of business, and will recommend pricing adjustments.
The Company will provide training similar to that
provided to full-time entry level employees. The intern
will receive instruction in insurance terminology, core
actuarial principles, data retrieval and analysis, and
technical writing. The intern will also receive broad
exposure to the different functions of an insurance
company through interaction with the Underwriting,
Sales/Marketing, IT, and other departments.

Requirements
Requirements are similar to those of full-time entry
level actuarial positions. Preference is given to
students currently in their junior year of college, but
other strong candidates will be considered. Also, while
the completion of an actuarial exam is not essential, it
is beneficial.

Compensation
A competitive level of compensation will be provided.

Location
The Company's corporate headquarters in Columbus, Ohio.
Free on-site parking is available.

Period
12 weeks during the summer of 2007.

Deadline for Application
October 31, 2006
