You should read sections of the book before they are studied in class.
Calculators: TI-30+ SOLAR, TI-30 STAT, TI-31, TI-32, TI-35, TI-50-2, Sharp EL520, Casio 82, Casio 300, or equivalent scientific calculator. Programmable calculators are not allowed in Math 050!
Homework: There will be daily assignments. Your solutions will not be collected. I encourage you to work with your classmates on the assignments. Click here for the assignments.
Tests and quizzes:
Almost every Friday will be a quiz.
Each quiz will consist of problems selected from the assignments. On the
quiz you may use any material in you own handwriting, including class
notes and assignment solutions.
There will be three midterm exams and one final exam. You may use
your calculator. You may not use your text, notes, or solutions to
assignments. Except for extraordinary reasons, you must take the
examinations at the scheduled times.

TOTAL POINTS POSSIBLE: Each quiz will be graded out of 50 points. The lowest grade will be dropped and the average of the remaining quiz scores will be the total quiz grade.
