Purpose of Course:

To master the standard techniques of elementary ordinary differential equations, Fourier series, and separation of variables in partial differential equations.

Office Hours:  Tuesdays & Thursdays at 6:30 until class time, Wednesdays at 3:30, and Fridays at 2:30 (both lasting about one hour).  Also, I'm willing to arrange other times to meet by appointment.

Grading: There will be one midterms on the 26th of April and one final at class time (5:30 p.m.) on Tuesday June 5th. There will be daily homework assignments from the sections covered that day, due in one week. In addition, there will be weekly quizzes on Thursdays. Your class grade will calculated by adding together 40% of your final exam score, 30% of your midterm score, with the remaining 30% coming from homework and quizzes with the homework counting twice as much as the quizzes.

Book:  We will be using the OSU edition of the 8th edition of William E. Boyce & Richard C. Diprima's Elementary Differential Equations.

Academic Misconduct: Don't do anything stupid, and we won't have a problem. See http://studentaffairs.osu.edu/resource_csc.asp for details on "stupid".

Disability Services: Contact ODS, and then bring me the necessary paperwork and documentation.

Calculator policy: While we do not actually have a calculator policy in this course, I wanted to warn those that have calculators that can integrate for you:  If YOU can't fill in the details on tests, a right answer by itself won't be full credit.
