¥ LTH Help: LapTopHack Preferences ¥ The ESC key brings up the "LapTopHack ESC" form. A pen stroke from the very bottom right corner of the ENTIRE glass or plastic screen area to the very top left corner of the screen also brings up the "LapTopHack ESC" form. The default ESC key is "`" (back quote). Define your own custom ESC key in your HackMaster extension manager via LapTopHack's Preferences form. Please don't pick "." or "a-z" or "A-Z" as ESC key. If you do then ESC will revert to "`". ¥ Check the "default buttom frame is bold" box, if you want the default buttons to be surrounded by a bold frame. ¥ Check the "so is a default trigger label" box, if you want the default labels of trigger controls [which pop up lists, categories, etc.] in bold. ¥ Check the "no pen stroke for LTH ESC" box, if you don't want to be able to call up the "LapTopHack ESC" form with a pen stroke. ¥ Check the "no pen stroke for date & info" box, if you don't want to be able to call up the "date & info" form with a pen stroke. ¥ Please see the manual for explanation of the other check boxes. ¥ Palm's built-in text-copy and text-cut to the ClipBoard can contain no more than 1000 characters. LapTopHack allows you to extend these limits by using the popup list next to the "The ClipBoard size..." label. In most cases, unless you have very little free RAM, it is all right to pick the largest number which is equal to 32K. ¥ Note. LapTopHack modifies the text-copy operation completely transparently. ¥ Note. LapTopHack modifies the text-cut operation in the following way. 1. If the text to be cut contains no more than 1000 characters then Palm's built-in text-cut does the job. 2. If the text to be cut contains more than 1000 characters but no more than the modified "ClipBoard size" then a text-cut cuts the text and copies it to the ClipBoard but the operation is undoable using Palm's built-in "Undo" command. However, the text-cut can still be undone using a regular text-paste. ¥ Register LapTopHack by entering the correct "name" and "code" in the appropriate fields. Unregistered LapTopHackers will be subjected to mild but persistent nagging. ¥ The default buttons are activated by "ESC o ENTER" or "ESC 1". ¥ Global Help ¥ To type a real ESC character, just type twice "ESC ESC".
