¥ pSearchTool by PaulComputing

This dialog allows you to search text in the currently focused text field.

This is a pToolSet module. Please see the manual for details.

¥ pSearchTool saves 128 of your recent and your favorite search strings each, the latter with full search profiles.

¥ pSearchTool supports almost the entire peditorial REGEXP library.

¥ Your REGEXP may also include all the peditorial REGEXP options and switches.

¥ EXAMPLES. "pedit[^ ]*"

¥ Please note that all command letters are case sensitive.

¥ Start up Rules ¥

If the current text field has current text selection, then the selected text, but no more than 255 chars, gets copied into the "Find:" text field. 

Otherwise, your previous search string gets copied into the "Find:" text field.

¥ The "ESC = " button allows you to define your own ESC key. Tap it to reveal the "ESC" text field. Enter your new ESC key and then tap the "ESC =" button again.

Hint. Use the page up/down keys or the up/down arrow keys to scroll the alphabet in the "ESC" text field.

Hint. If the "ESC" key is active then the "ESC = " button inverts itself.

¥ General Help ¥

The text field can be edited right inside the dialog but see below for more sophisticated editing.

If pReplaceTool's text field is left blank then the found text will be deleted.

ESC ? = the "i-Tips" button = help

ESC ENTER = ESC f = 5-way select = the "Find" or "F/R" button

ESC . [period] = the ".Cncl" [Cancel] button

ESC a = the "AddFav" button = save current search string and current search profile in the "favorite" list

ESC e = the "Find:" or "Repl:" button = "Edit" button = the "Item pEditor" menu command = edit the text field

ESC F = the "favorite" selection trigger

ESC i = the "ignore case" check box

ESC I = check the "ignore case" check box

ESC L = the line selection trigger

ESC m = the "min match" check box

ESC M = check the "min match" check box

ESC R = the "recent" selection trigger

ESC s = the "start at top" check box

ESC S = check the "start at top" check box

ESC u = the "use REGEXP" check box

ESC U = check the "use REGEXP" check box

ESC V = the "Version Info..." menu command = the version number and the compilation time'n'date of this pSearchTool

ESC w = the "within words" check box
