This dialog allows you to create a new "To Do Item" in the "To Do List" and its clone applications.

This is a pToolSet module. Please see the manual for details.

¥ Please note that all command letters are case sensitive.

¥ Start up Rules ¥

If the current text field is editable and has current text selection which contains the description-note separator string ":note:", then [part] of the selected text gets copied into the "To Do Item Vitals" dialog's text fields according to the following rules.

¥ (i) The selected text up to the string ":note:", but no more than 255 chars, gets copied into the "item" field.

¥ (ii) The selected text following the string ":note:", but no more than 4096 chars, gets copied into the "note" field.

Otherwise, if the current text field is editable and has current text selection, then the first 255 chars of the selected text gets copied into the "item" field.

Otherwise, some default text gets copied into the dialog's text fields.

¥ The "ESC = " button allows you to define your own ESC key. Tap it to reveal the "ESC" text field. Enter your new ESC key and then tap the "ESC =" button again.

Hint. Use the page up/down keys or the up/down arrow keys to scroll the alphabet in the "ESC" text field.

Hint. If the "ESC" key is active then the "ESC = " button inverts itself.

¥ General Help ¥

Both text fields can be edited right inside the dialog but see below for more sophisticated editing.

5-way left/right/up/down = left/right/up/down arrow keys

page up/down = up/down arrow keys

The "AddMode on|off" menu command switches between the "Add New Item and Do Not Exit" and "Add New Item and Exit" modes.

ESC ? = the "i-Tips" button = help

ESC 1 ... ESC 5 = the "Priority" push buttons

ESC ENTER = ESC a = ESC A = the "Add New Item" button = create a new "To Do Item" in the "To Do List" application

ESC c = ESC C = the "Category" popup list with Palm OS provided standard navigational support

ESC d = the "Due Date" popup list

ESC D = the "Default NoDueDate on|off" menu command = toggle between "last used due date" and "no due date" as default due dates

ESC e = ESC E = the "Exit" button

ESC i = ESC I = the "item pEditor" button = edit the top text field

ESC n = ESC N = the "note pEditor" button = edit the bottom text field

ESC K = the "Auto Caps on|off" menu command = toggle the "auto caps mode" [automatic capitalization of sentences]

ESC p = ESC P = the "Private" check box = privatization of the new item

ESC t = the "Due Date:" button = the "Today" menu command = today is the due date

ESC T = the "Go ToDo List" menu command = launch the "To Do List" application [or one of its clones]

ESC v = the downButtonSlided "Due Date:" button = the "No Due Date" menu command = "no due date" is the due date

ESC V = the "Version Info..." menu command = the version number and the compilation time'n'date of this pToDoTool

ESC x = the "AddMode on|off" menu command

ESC Z = the "Go To Last Item" menu command = launch the "To Do List" application [or one of its clones] and go to the last added item in it
