Welcome  to Math 5102: Linear
Mathematics in  Infinite Dimensions.
Math
5102 is the extension of Math 5101 into infinite dimensions.
It is a physically/motivationally rigorous course which develops the
six mathematical jewels
- Sturm-Liouville eigenvalue problems

- Hilbert spaces

- Fourier theory

- Green's functions

- special functions

- Wave equations

that lie at the heart of 20th and 21st
century science.

The goal is to have at one's disposal  an
overarching constellation of non-trivial  mathematical methods
-- mathematical tools for grasping at a fundamental level
vibrations, eletromagnetics, and signals for engineers as well as
electrodynamics and quantum mechanics for physicists.
This web site is the gateway to useful information about
Math 5102:
- A telegraphic overview
of  Math 5102 topics

- Aid to prerequisites.: (i) Euler's
differential equation and (ii) the Cauchy-Goursat
Theorem  together with the Cauchy integral
formula
